Returns and Refunds

The honest bit first

Every note is made by hand, for you, when you order it. Under UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, personalised and made-to-order goods are exempt from the standard 14-day statutory right to cancel that applies to most online purchases. Legally, I’m not required to take anything back. But I want you to feel safe buying from me, so here’s what I offer instead.

30-day goodwill returns

For the notes you purchased for yourself, you may request a return within 30 days of delivery on any 101, 201, 301 type of note, for a full refund, with the following conditions:

  • The item must be returned in its original condition.
  • Return postage is paid by you.
  • Refunds go to your original payment method within 10 working days of the item reaching me, usually sooner.

Subscriptions

Subscription purchases such as 501 The Calendar, 502 The Seasons and the gifting service 503 The Moments are all non-refundable once ordered. Two key reasons:

  • Editions is a series cannot be sold separately or separated between collectors
  • 503 orders are processed and added to calendars manually. As you can appreciate, a great deal of time and effort is extended before the first note ever leaves the studio.

Gifted pieces

If a note was bought as a gift, I’m happy to consider exchanging it for a different note of the same value. Poetry is personal, I get it. The note must be returned in its original condition, and I’ll cover the shipping costs. A gift recipient cannot exchange a gifted note for a refund.

Unwanted gifts will be stopped at the request of the recipient. I have zero tolerance towards abuse or harassment of any kind, and orders made with the intent to harass others will be cancelled without issuing a refund and may also be reported to the local authorities.

Please also see the Terms and Conditions page, section 9. Acceptable use.

If it arrives damaged

A small imperfection isn’t a fault, it’s proof someone made this by hand rather than a machine. Where the piece is otherwise intact, I’d encourage you to keep it rather than request a replacement. It’s better for the planet, and I think you’ll come to love the mark as part of the experience.

If your order arrives significantly damaged, or the packaging has been destroyed, send me an email with a description of your problem and relevant photos before requesting a replacement. Once confirmed, I’ll send a new piece at no cost to you, along with a prepaid label so you can return the damaged one at my expense.

If your refund hasn’t arrived

Once I’ve processed a refund, it can still take a few days for your bank or card provider to post it. If it’s been longer than 10 working days since you received my confirmation, check with your bank or card provider first, then get in touch with me if it still hasn’t shown up.

A reminder on the legal bit

As stated above, this policy is not a legal entitlement and may be withdrawn at any time without notice.
